Ingredients

  1. Onion - 1/3 large onion
  2. Green chilli - 2
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  4. Tomato - 1
  5. Dal - 1 cup
  6. Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  7. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  8. Ghee
  9. Asafoetida
  10. Fenugreek
  11. Salt

Preparation

  1. Take a cooker. Put some oil and sauté the onions and green chillies until onion turns golden brown.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 min.
  3. Add tomatoes and fry for a min.
  4. Add dal to this and fry for a min.
  5. Add turmeric powder and cook for 30 sec.
  6. Add salt and water and pressure cook on high for 3 - 4 whistles.
  7. Fry fenugreek, ghee, chilli powder, red chillies, asafoetida in a pan.
  8. Add the fried mixture to the dal mixture after cooling down and cook well.
