Most of the Indian documents needs to be apostilled to be recognized in France. Apostille is given by Ministry of External Affairs of India. Before applying for apostille you need to get the document authorized from the regional authentication centers - the list of which you can find here. MEA charges 50₹ per document to be apostilled.

If you have obtained the authorization from state and is unable to travel to a MEA office you can contact ManpreetA[at]vfsglobal.com and send him the following.

  1. Original Document
  2. Photocopy of the document
  3. Photocopy of the passport of the applicant.
  4. Postal order or DD of 50₹ (email and confirm) favoring PAO, MEA, ND

He charges 22₹ per document to be apostilled plus courier charges of Rs.250₹ and gets the document apostilled in 1 day + courier delay

If you don't get the regional verification, you can approach any agency including vfs, but they may charge anything from 1000₹ to 5000₹ per document

There are two types of apostille- with and without police verification. Verification is done by the regional centre and it can take time. Also if you are approaching an agency they charge more for the one with verification.

Luckily in France, verification is not required
